Mistress

Open the book
Flip through the pages
Don't give me that look
You haven't been in my cages

A shattered soul
A broken heart
Love has taken such a toll
So hard living life apart

What do the words show
Do they speak of the man
Of my lowest low
Don't you dare claim to understand

You know nothing about me
You don't know the boy
But you begin to see
I feel like your toy

Struggle to break free
You study from outside
You've stolen everything from me
I have no more time to bide

Bars bend and break
You stumble back in fear
A chance that I must take
I can't allow myself to stay here

Stepping through a door
Into a busy street
I wonder what more
Could possibly guide my feet

Then I see her
Across the way
Emotions begin to stir
I never thought I'd see this day

I call her name
And she glances up
Yes the features are the same
Her face my hands cup

Beauty before my eyes
And my heart beats the quickest
When she lets one of her soft sighs
This is my mistress

Pic inspired.

Sry...

When I write a poem, for a pic, I start with the first thing that pic gives me, from there I move on, allowing my thoughts to go where they will.

Firstly I would like to thank you for entering!!!!

This a deep poem!!!! So much emotion is expressed, anger, sadness, the soul now stands it shall take no more....

Excellent title one word powerful and strong
Your rhyme of words I felt in places felt a little forced...but overall a wonderful work of art

    goodluck
