My Sweet Dove

You are my sweet dove
A light kiss upon my lips
A warm touch to my skin you are my love

You are the light in my heart
The fire that keeps it going  
You make me so happy more than you will ever know

You have my heart
The day you came in my life I felt such joy
A part of me I thought was gone

A feeling I thought was dead
A feeling of hope and happiness that will never go away
My sweet dove

    I'm trying to go back now, and "catch up" on all my favorite writers here, whose work I didn't get to read, because I wasn't a member a the time the work was written. And I'm soooo glad I found this! This is just absolutly lovely, Robin. A really tender, sweet poem, but filled with such love; just blows me away! Tremendous!

    I guess for most of the people we love, they're our light at the end of the tunnel.. believe me, this is just excellent... if only I felt the same way with someone though..

    My sweet dove.That's really a nice way to see someone.Your girlfriend is very lucky to have you.From what I can tell,you both inspire one another very much and bring out the best in each other both artistically and otherwise.Nice write!

    Love it!

    Absolutely lovely, this is a wonderful illustration of love. The words are so comforting, just like the poem itself. The first few lines are my favorite "You are my sweet dove, a light kiss upon my lips, A warm touch to my skin you are my love." It's perfect. Keep up the wonderful work!
