Stripped down to the primal
Of mind, spirit and thought
But conscious to the lessons
Of a life of paradox
Living a life of turmoil
Transgressions inlaid with grief
I stand frozen in contemplation
Destitute of all belief
Alone in silent isolation
But no feeling of despair
For I’m free of complication
Without worry, without care
Here I stand an empty vessel
Without meaning so innate
Do I take the first step forward
Never again to stand and wait

Awesome Write!!
Hello Rob. Well your title drew me to read this one. So glad I did. What a wonderful way to feel about life. No worry or care, just being you. Could this be a little insight on yourself?
Great imagery. Such a pleasure to read my friend. You take care, Sandy

Thanks sandy!
This is one of my personal favorites. It was inspired by the picture for the contest. I do try to live life one day at a time though. It just makes it a little easier I think.

Hey! Didn't think I'd see you here. I thought I'd read this before but I couldn't remember. My memory still sucks real bad.
Anywhoose, the picture freaked me out when I first saw it. I thought it was an alien and immediately evil thoughts came to mind. I felt much better after reading it all the way through. An empty vessel without meaning we all appear to be on the outside, but on the inside it's quite different with all the roiling emotions bottled up. At least the beginning steps were taken at the end to get away from all that thought. I really liked it, all in all. Best of luck to you!
Sweetest of dreams! ~D

The name reminded me of the Denzel Washinton movie. I think that's what is was. Anyway, great write.

I think the movie your thinking of is A Man On Fire or something like that. It was a good movie though I saw it also.

Deeply profound! This is a very strong and bold interpretation of the image. A gripping addition of personal insight and optimism weaved amongst the lonely imagery. Beautifully written! Thanks for your entry and good luck!

Oh wow. I love the opening lines, it sets the poem on a certain track, ingrains a deeper meaning into choice.
I also liked the casual relaxed feel this has, not stressing or becoming overpreoccupied with the decision at hand, but instead taking it at face and with a calm, almost optimistic mood.
Best wishes

Thanks child!
Sometimes we just have to step back a little. Life is so stressful sometimes. You just have to take what comes, face it and hope for the best.
