Standing on the shore
Looking out across the water
Salty ocean air, drops of the sea
Licking at my skin
I feel the cold air swirling
Stirring up the sand
Grains are pricking at me
Irritating me
I feel so lost and lonely
So tiny and insignificant
On this lonely beach
Sadness washes over me
The vast and solitary emptiness
Stretches on and on
There is no end in sight
It only makes the pain more intense
This place, ordinarily so calming
Does not have its normal magic
I'm left to wonder
By myself, which way to go
