Your Vineyard Fantasy

artwork unknown, supplied by anirishlulabye

I am your vineyard fantasy
posed in front of your dull eyes
like a deep pink neon apparition.

The day I drank and drank
to smother the pain of a wrecked love
I was spotted by the wine masters
who are always on the hunt
for reclined nodding heads
adorned with glistening teary eyes;
they picked me up
and cultivated me
sliced me up
and replaced my heart
with a wine pump.
Now my blood is the potion
that  makes you believe
your heartaches and disillusions
are bearable.

Look at the clarity of my Port volumes
gently shake my crimson body
to bring out my sweet aroma
smell my Merlot charm
kiss my savory Cabernet lips
nurse on my Burgandy nipples
take me all in – in small appreciative sips.

Let this multi sensual spell
work its wonders
I am here to dazzle and intoxicate your senses
and to numb your heart…

If Alice had the spirit - so should you!
I am the promise of oblivion incarnated

“drink me”

Author notes

This was written originally in a pic contest. I couldn't help associating the picture's color with red wine, thus some types of red wine are mentioned like Cabernet, Merlot, port and Burgandy (hopefuly I'm ALL, lol).

good luck to all and cheers!

I like the image of a 'deep pink neon apparation'. I wish I had a wine heart, and burgandy nipples boy are you lucky. Thank you for this beautiful entry!

    Am I thirsty now!

Dripping with sensuality! And the red's have more antioxidants too!
Wonder if I could pop the cork on a few? <--(smacks himself for saying such a thing)
Truly a rich and beautiful poem.

    Goodness!

This was quiet different. What a view on the picture you've chosen. It is just different in a lot of ways and it reminded me of kind of a sci-fi thing. But excellent poem. Thanks for entering and good luck to you. Kassie.

What an ingenous poem with the theme of red throughout it. You have used the description of red wine so very well,

Look at the clarity of my Port volumes
    gently shake my crimson body
to bring out my sweet aroma
    smell my Merlot charm
    kiss my savory Cabernet lips
take me all in – in small appreciative sips.

    This is really great!

I wish you good luck in the contest, and raise my glass in homage to your poem!

It has been way too long that I have read anything by you, and I apologise. This actually made me smile, especially after I read the author note. It fascinates me to read what enters someones mind when they are provided with a visual as in Rorschach inkblot test<----sp?. I must say I can see how wine was it, and then you did justice to that libation with your words. Best wishes in the contest,
    reenie

      Thanks Reenie,

No need to apologize, I have not written in a while, not since my beloved cat died in December. You have a brilliant observation - pic contests ARE indeed like Rorshach tests, never thought of that analogy, LOL.

I'm not much of a wine connoseur (Jack Daniels works fine for me), but somehow the color was the trigger...not quite red, more like a deep pink or burgandy-red, thus the association.

thanks for your comments and applause,
      rachel
