The critter's started the fire
Oh no! A fire in the choir I heard you say
the critter’s that night came out to play,
I saw a few as they ran round the room
the guards were chasing them with a broom.
The next I knew the curtains were on fire
we cried “Come down” to the frightened choir!
As Yemm and Gregg began to hose the blaze
we ran around as all were in a daze.
Our King began to speak to calm the crowd,
but those little critter's squeaked so loud
and jumped from head to head landing hard
upon the band who yelled and screamed “GUARD.”
The guards ran in but slipped from water spout,
they chased them round the room till they ran out
into the grounds, the guards gave chase of them
they ran into some holes, but where is Yemm?
Oh good he caught some critter’s out the back
and now he’s trying to place them in a sack!
He hauled them down the stairs to the dungeon
there had to be at least a half a dozen.
The ruckus calms down let’s go back to the hall
resume the fun the choir we can recall.
So that’s how the fire in the choir began
the night went off according to plan.

One of my choice :)
I really liked your criters Jen, and I bet Yel had learned them some tricks for the next time they appear
There is only one criter he's afraid of, it's called IT, but that is another story lol
I had fun reading your entry, sory for coming so late with my comment, have been busy trying to beat Yem lol

Congratulations to the 3 winners and the HM'S

Oh nicely done...but Yem and critter's now that is a scary thought...will he drown em, or cook em? That is the question!!!!!!!!!

-
LOL, Who knows what I'll do with them down there! Probably just cook them and feed them to Hugh.

After reading all the poems I can only say, "We have no idea how the fire really started, each of us tells a different story. One thing is certain, people seem to think I was involved in some way...I wonder why that is...me...who never doesn't anything odd....
This was cute, I love humor...I'm sure that shocks people

What a funny series of images you've presented here. I especially like seeing the guards chasing them with a broom
But the whole poem is hilarious
Good luck in the contest

hahahaha!
Jenny you always amaze me with the injected
humor you have. I simply loved this one.
I could actually see racoons &
possums running around the kitchen &
knocking over a lamp or something
to starting a fire.
Great job & thank you for the fun!
