116. Rubaiyat I and II

I
Saccharine tongue: Poet describing his adore;
—words benevolent significance: stanzas’ forte
—metaphors, personifications come alive,
—kindest are splendor whispering ‘amore.’

II
Lithe brushstrokes: Painter obscured in love’s life;
—colors handpicked, cared, with appraisal high
—canvas: heart, soul emptied-hopes of a retort.
answer: painting, a mirror; an ‘awe’ sugary sigh.

    "Saccharine" is one of my favourite words.. it sounds so beautiful on the tongue. This was really beautiful, I won't claim I'm familiar with the format but I think I will be if the results yieled are often like those of this poem..

    The imagery was awesome, I loved the 'sugary sigh' at the end, circling it back to the "Saccharine tongue". This was simply just breathtaking.

    I'm really sorry about how long it took for me to comment and judge. Best of luck in the contest and thanks for taking the time to enter!
