Do You See?

Do you see?

…and you see the beauty

that gathers around,

sleeping peacefully

as a darkness overcomes…

…sadness,

utter devastation

spreads,

its black heart moving

slowly,

ever so slowly

as to overtake the loveliness

that once was here…

…do you see?

there~

the black-heartedness

that creeps quietly

over the vast glory,

the God-made

resplendence,

suddenly ghastly…

…much like the blackness

that overtakes a pure heart

that has been corrupted,

a stench of irrefutable

disgust

that will continue to grow

as long as the hate grows,

it will take us into repugnance…

…loathsome,

grotesque, offensive to the human eye,

this hideousness of evil

that has grown,

and will eventually consume…

… us all.

Author notes

When I saw this picture, I immediately saw the darkness under and in the rocks below the trees. It reminded me of an evil that I saw on a movie that seemed to overtake everything. This part of the picture was my inspiration.

Sorry, I didn't see anything in the picture unless maybe there is something hiding in the cave that evokes such fear and disgust. Good luck in the contest.

    Sincerely,
    Leo Long

Now, Leo, look at that big black cave-like thingy. That, in my eyes, is a black ooze of terror! Now, do you see it?

The utter desolation this brought into my thoughts, Patricia, was frightening, but that is what happens when we are cut off from God and fail to recognize His sovereignty. It makes me appreciate so much more the light He has brought into my life in so many forms: friends, music, family, nature, and the infinite love He has for me and the mercy He shows me. Thank you for writing this and reminding me that there is still an entire world that needs the same light brought to them.

Thank you, Sweetie. Yes, I can see the devastation only when I forget that God is here with us--that isn't often. I remember quite well that God is watching over us.

I was hoping this would evoke real emotion. Yes, the entire worlk does need that Light! Hugs, Patricia
