A lost and lonely soul
Traveling a winding path
Uncertain where it leads
Too afraid to turn back
So many places along the path
But none that look inviting
Looking for a place to rest
But none come into view
I long for just one moment
Of peace and relaxation
I find a narrow alley
Leading off my beaten path
Dare I follow where it leads
Do I want to know what's there
Curiousity tugs at me
Urging my feet toward the unknown
I slowly start this narrow way
Looking all around me
I hear strange sounds and see strange sights
And I'm too fascinated to be scared
A whole new world has opened up
On this unforged path
No one else has gone before
And I'm so glad I did
Author notes
I've been going through a lot of life changes recently, and made some drastic moves I didn't necessarily give a lot of thought to. Most have turned out well and inspired this poem. Hopefully, it's as good as I think it is.

Reminds me of Frost's "paths less travelled" - I always try to take the one less travelled, although sometimes I chicken out!

that's where the inspiration came from, Frost's poem.
