We are a sileouette.
A canvas overflowing.
Our love shines like the sun
  Through clouds.
Our shadows dance to the
  Moonlit sky.
At times your eyes are mirrors
  To an alternative life.
A place that feels like the horizon
  Of the world.
The place where I can see no difference
  In heaven or in earth.

The sun sets as we hold hands,
  Sitting on the bridge of sky and land.
I like to close my eyes,
  And feel the fragrance of your life,
When floating on air has become so real
  Not a dream or a nightmare.
I embrace your face and kiss your lips,
  Stare you in the eyes, and say nothing.
For a moment I felt like falling,
  And I swear to God I did;
But while I fell, you reached out
  And held me once again.

Author notes

I wrote this for my girlfriend. I am a romantic guy, and I like to dream of how things feel when I'm with her. You may notice it changes from kissing to falling, but that is because from kissing her sometimes I feel like I'm falling because its so wonderful; almost like I lose control. But, she catches me. Theres alot to this poem, and I feel its really from my heart. I chose to use art as a way of expressing because my girlfriend loves art, and I also enjoy art (though, mostly different forms specifically)

    "feel the fragrance of your life" that was a very beautiful line. it opens up the poem to a new life. this is a lovely poem very well expressed and with such feelings good luck in my contest
