The brush of eyelashes
Was a comforting sound
As if butterflies
were flying by
The sounds of wings
As soft as slik
Brushing together
Barely audible
My mommy leaning over close
To put her eye to mine
She bats her lashes
I do the same
And giggle when she says
"That, my darling, was a butterfly kiss."
I'll never forget
Those days
When all I wanted
Were butterfly kisses
And, perhaps
A peanut butter and jelly sandwhich
But now life is hurling things
So much harder
Than butterfly wings
And it takes a little more
To stop the tears
And make me laugh
So bye bye butterfly kisses
I'll visit you a better day
For the delicate sound
of butterfly wings
Gets drowned-out so easily
Now a-days

"The sounds of wings

That was really good. I liked this. Thanks for entering, and good luck!
