Let us cast an eye about this room,
And survey the persons all about,
Each one of us was once a stranger,
Ignorant of the future warmth,
That we would share with one another.
Our lives we live in toil and love,
Sharing care with kith and kin.
Yet life’s drole path draws us amongst,
Those parties who would share this Earth,
As companions thus far unnamed.
We bring ourselves as unique souls,
With thoughts and manners alien.
And ‘spite the curse of Babylon,
We bond across our cultures gap,
With smiles and embraces.
I thank you all for who you are,
And that you came to share,
This time of mutual revelry.
For friendship is that crucial note,
That brings this world its glory.

This was written on 25th January, which is the birthdate of Scotlands most famed poet, Robert Burns. I consider myself a Scot and wrote this piece in his style, to give as a present to the people who will come to my home-warming party tomorrow.

WOW What and introductory first stanza reflects the man behind the words and his wisdom. As the words unfold they weave their magic in the rich tapestry of friendship. This, to me, is one heartfelt write giving warmth to the readers....what is a friend but that stranger we stopped long enough to say hello and get to know.
This is one very brilliant write I thank you for the pleasure
What a very special way of letting your friends know you value their friendship.
