There's a Dog clamping down on me
I can walk into shit I can hide in a pit
The evils that I can not see
The chips are stacked
and I've lost most my pile
The Odds are against me
And I just keep on betting
but there's no way of winning
No way of winning
Someone's gonna have to bury me
But I can't hide in death, I can't die when I'm alive
The good that never happens to me
The chips are stacked
and I've lost most my pile
The Odds are against me
And I just keep on betting
but there's no way of winning
No way of winning
Today just is not my...
My lucky day...
It's raining and it's cold
and I feel so alone
Even when the room is filled around me
I just want some peace
Just want to be happy
So take this pain
as my debt gets bigger...
Just take this pain
JUST TAKE IT AWAY!

This is interesting, not what I expected when I read "Gambler" but not unpleasant.
Life is hard and cruel, and luck is often against us. Or even worse, bad luck is with us.
I liked the second (and fourth stanza), it created a strong sense of futility and frustration. Such as I think is often felt with the loss of a gamble.
Thanks for entering, sorry about the delay in judging. Best of luck.
