A Fool's Wish - (Pantoum)

To wish the long life

Is the wish of a fool

For it may be full of strife

And such it can be cruel.

Is the wish of a fool

The same wish of the wise

And such it can be cruel

Who knows where the answer lies.

The same wish of the wise

For it may be full of strife

Who knows where the answer lies

To wish the long life.

This is a bit like the conundrum, only the good die young! For a life lived long can be alone and sad if the person is arrogant and prideful but then the wise who suffer for others such as Mother Theresa did, they can see and feel the cruelty of it all and find not enough time do they have to right all the wrongs. I think this is a piece that may have no answer, in that it will make people think as they read.
