Now I lay me down to sleep

You know as well as I dear brother
mother has tucked us in, relieve your post
from my window, go to rest again, release
your modest lull, that howl, and let me find
this sleep, in shallows of redemption
you may wallow, your secrets I will keep.
In daydreams past, long I've waited here,
to whisp me up a tier to truth, to passes I dare
not brave alone, without my brother here to save,
but away, away you wept, not knowing I needed you,
unaware of my hopes and dreams, as your works availed you.
Mother rises very soon, make haste with no delay,
from my window you must go, your calls and taunts
they cannot stay, quickly now release your guard;
for my word to keep those secrets heard, on that faithful
afternoon, is strong as when I promised you, never will
that confidence swoon.  Even with the wrongs comitted,
I know inadvertantly of course, the coldest breathes,
nights unrest, and leary callings, they aren't the dirge
to our classical tune, but rather niches of your ways,
soon enough i'll learn to crave.

Please tell me what you think

so your 21, are you getting a english major, I like your impressive use of vacabulary, and also in this piece loved how you portrayed emotions in it with out being cliche. Powerful ending love the "dirge" line, clever.                                    -Jacen.

    sad and beautiful

Perhaps my melancholy mood provoked me to read this poem in such a way. I get the lull of sadness. It's pretty tho....I see the Mother as the Sun. And with your help--the Wind as your brother. I also see parts of myself...especially with the last lines...which seems weird to say...but I'm sure you understand. I liked quite a few lines in this but I will only cite a couple of them: "in shallows of redemption" "away you wept, not knowing I needed you,"
    "they aren't the dirge
to our classical tune, but rather niches of your ways, "
