Let me tell you a story, a tale in a magic land.
It is the story of the gentle, humble Emerald Man.
He journeyed to the Ceili, to meet a sordid dame.
Instead he met a fiddler, called Cymbeline O'Brianne.
Ding dong ding dong ding ding
The Emerald Man ate some poison soup and turned a horrid green.
The fiddler screamed, and sprinted away from the sick, sad scene.
Now it was half past eight, and madness was ensured.
Four brigands entered angrily, and came to where he stood.
Dong dong ding dong ding dong
The Emerald Man gave a wink, and took a puff from his pipe.
The magic smog, ensared the men, and they laughed the whole night.
Ding dong ding dong dong ding
The time went on, as it should, the bartender was sorely pissed.
The performers weren't up to par, and the Emerald Man got kissed.
The Kisser was called Chloe Moore, her eyes were blue as coral,
She waved and danced like a dervish, and her gown was truely formal.
Ding ding dong ding ding dong dong ding dong
The Emerald Man was overjoyed, he struck up a fiery dance.
The people of the Ceili looked on in sweet romance.
He was happy as could be, and kissed his haunting prize.
And just to make sure, she'd never leave, he dared not close his eyes.

Light and happy, like a fairtale - and I sure got some smiles from the "magic smog"!! A delight to read, Jay - you have a very creative mind. The ending was just perfect too - very refreshing. I so enjoyed this - like a walk through an enchanted, modern-day forest!

I expect the caterpiller on the toadstool was smoking his hooka and winking at the emerald man! It has this surreal kind of feel to it and is very cleverly written. I enjoyed this a lot. Refreshing and unusual.

strange
Quite strange, and so unique. Or, I've never read anything like it yet anyway. I like the background picture, how it's a very dark shade. The letters stand out well against it. The pictures you draw here are very enchanting. Great job!

What a beautiful poem. Very cheerful. Had such a wonderful ending "and just to make sure, she'd never leave, he dared not close his eyes." That was truly beautiful. It's an excellent poem. You did a wonderful job.
