A Tribute to AIDs Victims (Just Another Victim of AIDs)

Samantha let him go right in
unaware that he had no protection
she had loved him, she gave him her soul
she found that he could make her whole

she moaned as he pushed into her
she somehow liked the pain incurred
she smiled, though she groaned in pain
because they're bound, the two shall stay

they laid so still right after sex
Sam kissed his cheek and then got dressed
she smiled awkwardly at the naked boy
and headed out the door to work

as days passed by they grew farther apart
the sex had done nothing to conjoin the two hearts
she found he kept drifting farther away
there was always much less that he wanted to say

and after a week she wanted to have fun
so she called up her friend; left her boyfriend at home
the friends went to the beach and it seemed such a blast
-- it seems that the good times just never do last

they packed up their stuff and the beach they had left
they debated if they would go take an AIDs test
they made a decision, first they'd go eat
cause the place for the testing was right down the street

and they walked down the street as they laughed and they joked
there was not one small nerve; she was surely so sure
her spirits were high and her face bore a gleam
(i'm sure that you know how this turns out to be)

she got to the building, walked in without fears
she just lost her virginity, she was safe, it was clear
she took the test bravely, they awaited results
and recieved a response that had tore her heart up

"Samantha, you tested positive, i'm sorry to say"
she looked at the floor as tears fell down her face
"It was only one time! Just one time, once, i swear!"
as her cries for forgiveness echoed in the air...

she had not expected that she'd be the one
her birth mom died of it; she'd die just like her mom
she admitted she knew nothing of this disease
and was crushed when she found there was no remedy

(later)

and even on her deathbed, a survivor for years
as she held on her friends hand and fought back all the tears
she'd blame it on herself when in fact it was not
it was only the boy friend who was really at fault

the boyfriend had wanted a baby so bad
he had left out the condom so he would get just that
he wanted a baby, instead, he caused death
he ran form the problem, now look what he gets

as i stand at her funeral, reading aloud this sad poem
of a life cut short by a disease of which little is known
we will look back back upon one more great, vibrant face
knowing that she is just another victim of AIDS

Please tell me what you think
