when the bough breaks

surrendered to time
grieving laid down for a nap

haven't cried in three days
a Christmas song, non-lullabye

cradle of life stopped rocking
honored now more than before

five donuts later and I'm still trying
to convince myself I'm going to be ok.

Author notes

one of mine is Zoe Jane by Staind....

I'd rather know what your favorite lullabye is....

This sounds like me with the donuts, anyway. What a soothing filler this is when one is down in the dumps. Food always does it for me too! Can relate to this. Easy to read and understand what you are expressing in these lines.

The only problem is if you're down in the dumps too often your plumpness becomes unbecoming.
      anyway. take care.
