Janus

I am Janus

one face is a smiling mask

The other is a tear-stained lump

And when it comes I cannot know

Light and beauty grace the day

Then some stray thought, like a

moth lost in the dark, flickers

into the cauldron of my mind

All becomes dark and sinister

Hopelessness leads me on a leash

like an untrained puppy

I sit and weep

I am Janus

Janus doesn't weep Sherry. When he gets dispondent he goes to war.

I really like this. Hard to pick out particular parts...but the puppy on a leash fit, because one usually thinks of a puppy in a happy, light sense...but how do they feel being on a leash? Controlled by someone or something and held back probably. This fits the sense of mood swings..
