stale stories
of useless worries
make such great
memories
and in the dark
where life seems stark
it brought me
to my knees
but here i write
what i find right
and found
a saving grace
life's to be lived
and sins forgived
in this
the hurting place
our world so great
and bright with hate
gleams dark
against my eyes
but in my quest
another test
taught me
of Dark's demise
finding peace
piece by piece
i stand
under the storm
hopes set high
that one day i
will live
outside the norm
where now i fight
to love what's right
these words
give no justice
to that; the battle
of foolish prattle
which still
i know, exists
and though the riot
might someday quiet
the death toll
always grows
to pay your life
to save your pride.
but why
really, who knows?
so save, say i
the defining eye
which you
were once blessed with
yet 'stead you mold
to match the old
and join
them in this myth
that something's right
or wrong, my plight
is that you might
soon know
what's real enough
about this stuff
is how you're meant
to grow
so don't fit in
with pure or sin
but find you're own
way to be
cause in the end
its you who spend
your life
defining "me"

this was a thought provoking poem with a misleading title. i was thinking that it was goingto be humourus. i dont understand what the title has to do with it or maybe i do. possibly it means that all this soul searching is really for that damn cookie. ha greatw rite

Excellent! Love this self-searching and thought-provoking poem. Thanks so much for your entry & good luck!
-
your title makes me hungry
i like your analogy
brutal but honest.

Love the closing!
I like this poem a lot, but where did that title come from?

cookie cutter pattern cookies, cookie cutter pattern people:
people trying to change eachother so that they're all exactly alike
