On Holly's 17th Birthday

It was
your birth that opened my womb,
transforming a
mere woman
into
a mother.
You also opened up
my heart then,
turning twenty-five years worth of a
selfish being
into someone who at last knew what it felt like
to really love
another human ...
I may have
given birth
you you on that snow frosted day in January of 1990,
but my daughter, on that
same day, it was
you
who had given
Life
to me...

Happy 17th birthday, my dear firstborn Holly!
I am honored to be your mother.

    Soooooooo True!!!!!!!!!

Dee, What beautiful wishes for Holly and words so true. Although I don't have any children of my own I see the love my sisters have for their children and I hold those nieces and nephews in my heart as if they were my own also. Your words of love for Holly touched my heart very deeply and left me with a warm smile. I want to thank you for sharing your gift with all of us and I hope Holly had a very happy birthday. Kudos for both of you. Bravo!!! Bravo!!! Bravo!!!! Love and God bless, Joyce

Your words are truthful. A lovely message to your daughter as she begins a new stage in her life. Being 17, she is at an age where she can comprehend and appreciate your words. Later, as she embarks on her adult life - perhaps being a mother herself, these words will pay back in her mind. A beautiful poem that will be cherished for many years. Well done dear poet.

    Hay happy birthday to yah

That horrid horned insect that roams and sits under my shoe did not want me to see yah today. But I have in my heart, which that nasty bit of fly poo doesn’t have. Just like you to write something so tender and loving I think even the die hard have a tear in their eyes after reading such a wonderful bit of writing. I am not biased Dee Robinson but I love you and that pen of your well there might be a just a robbery one day. Take care will see you soon.

    Great

Two souls find the love that has been given at a time of special meaning and wonder. A heart opens entirely to a new love and finds it is amazed at the feeling it can have for this new and magical being.

Such a beautiful way to say Thanks and Happy Birthday to your young lady.

Very well done, be well and be blessed.
