when sitting upon the softest blades,
sharing friendships eons long,
a canteen of new these three can sip,
live a life some shorter than one.
Author notes
The unknown can be magnificent
This line is meant to describe the turtle, the secrets its shell might hold.
sharing friendships eons long,
A relationship between humankind and the world around.
a canteen of new these three can sip,
A puppy and young boy are both symbols of youth, I assume the turtle is also young, thus they all sip upon this canteen of youth
live a life some shorter than one.
all those animals will die before the last animal the boy.

I have to agree with fleur-de-lys, I guess no need to repeat... - Jacen.

Short, deep, beautiful, meaningful. Good work!

Liked the poem and the way you explained it afterwards. Once I saw the picture this is based on it all made more sense. Congrats on the HM as well.

I like this one because it is unique and creative with deep meaning therein. Thanks for sharing and good luck in my contest... x Butterfly.

this is nice, tho i feel it would be better without the explanation....especially (if i am assuming correctly) that it is based off a photo. However I really like the depth to this and the beauty of friendship shared in all creatures. I know how much you love animals. Good write.
