Rampage Of the Grot-Bag Gremlins

The Grot-bag Gremlins, marched into town,
with a surly sneer and a fearsome frown.
They smashed the statue in the square
and sprayed gunge-green, the poor mayor's hair.

They tied him up, with his golden chain
and left him out in the pouring rain.
As the green dye dripped into his eyes,
they made him eat some raw mince pies.

They set the old town hall on fire,
the consequences were quite dire.
Because no one dared leave home at all,
so the Grot-bag Gremlins had a ball.

They trashed the shops and looted goods
and all of them were wearing hoods.
So no one knew who they really were;
if the leader was - a "him" or "her"

They turned the taps on everywhere
and flooded all the old town square.
The law! - they were nowhere to be seen,
as townsfolk surveyed the sorry scene.

Those gremlins scattered the wheelie bins;
the mayor's, held lethal home-made gins.
They got horribly hammered and drunk as skunks,
saw pink elephants sporting lime-green trunks.

They slept it off in a bedding store,
when they awoke - oh my, their heads were sore.
Never again would they touch any gin,
their craniums ached, at the drop of a pin.

The gremlins went, as quick as they came.
It was hoped they'd never be seen again.
That's what the townsfolk prayed that day.
I bet a fiver, they'll be back to stay.

    This piece is pushing it in regards to my line request, but it was an enjoyable read. I loved the first three stanzas. They had just the sort of randomness common in Shel's own pieces. Thanks so much for entering my contest!
