Crimson coughs on white sheets.
Wilting voice,
and sapless spirit.
Worn veins burst,
and I
have a few words to say.
Resultant revelations-
a destructive declaration.
Known, unknown,
all concerned must know;
as the curtains fall upon life,
I admit my betrayal.
I forgot to live.

That was a truly excellent ending! I loved the colour contrast in the first stanza, it set the scene really well. Great writing. Good luck in the contest.

Wow, your last line is so striking. "I forgot to live" I really love that. Great job!
