Take all the pain, you choose to receive.
Inhale all your lies, you choose to believe.
You waste your time with dreams of tomorrow,
But fail to see the present’s day sorrow.
Hope for the fact of a better existence.
Delay what you feel, thought a bitter resistance.
I hear all you say, but I’m deaf to the truth.
I keep my soul young, but I’m blind to my youth.
I try so hard to be the mirror image you see.
But fail to reflect what you see within me.
I pray for a chance to give you my one submission.
But take for granted my inner intuition.
Don’t hate me for the words I speak.
But treasure me, for my truth flows deep.
I hate to be seen the way I am.
But perhaps it is best if my inner soul,
You don’t understand.
“Be what you are, not what you’re made to be”

I really liked this piece. It had a very matter-of-fact confessional tone to it. It was very open and honest and gave me a lot to think about. I really loved it! Great job!

I liked this. It flowed very well and just really gave us alot to think of. I like the word choice and the fact that it just was easy and again, flowed so very well. Great work!
