Night falls slowly
twilight lingers
leaving a silver-drenched landscape
the trees reaching up to touch the sky
like pale moonbeam
shadows blend
birthing misty creatures
that move like wraiths
in the oncoming night
immaterial ghosts
linger in the dusk
fallen angels
hide their cries
in the tranquil night wind
Demons lurking
chant their curses
through the chirping bugs
The leaves rattle
with faerie footsteps
and unicorns
touch their horn
to skin through twigs and branches
Elves, pure and perfect
watch with invisible eyes
No stars shine through
only an orange moon
to show where earth meets sky
the only barrier
to decipher the shades of night

The touches of nature throughout this piece werevibrant and well brought out for the reader to imagine and savor. Nicely done. I appreciate you taking the time and making the effort to enter my contest. Thank you and good luck!

Beautiful
I like the way fact and fiction have been woven together in this poem with such strong images and each one very enjoyable.
