Hidden away
Like the most precious of jewels,
I placed you,
So far away
That if I tried
I could forget you exist,
But I remember
Every little beat,
Every jump,
Every skip,
Forcing me to keep you safe,
More than ever before,
So in the moonlit hours of night
I sneak away to visit you,
Cradle you in my arms,
My secret,
My gem,
That if revealed,
Would be swept away from me
In an instant,
Only to be shattered,
I dare not let that be your fate,
Your demise,
So hidden you stay,
In tact and shimmering.
