A Simple Love Poem

Missing image
I find no words to express
What I think or what I feel
There is not gratitude enough
To convey what you mean to me

All I can write
All I can do
All I can say
Is love

I love you
I love you more
Than anyone I've ever known
I love you so much
It bears resemblance to joy and pain
I love you not for my selfish gain
I love you in thought
I love you in deed
I love you in charity
I love you in need
I will love you forever
Or I will love you never
I will love you with my all
Or I will love you not at all

Author notes

This piece is not about my girlfriend, my wife or significant other. I have not any of those. This is about a dear friend of mine. This poem is not about romantic love. It is about love.

  • Beautiful! This is the love that inspires love poems....(wink)

The main reason why I enjoyed this poem so much is because it speaks the truth about simple love.

    Props to LOVE!

Thank you. Your comments are most kind. I never really liked this piece. I thought it was to much like prose and too simple which is why I titled in a Simple Love Poem. I thank you for the encouraging feedback. It's great to know you enjoyed my words and the simple truth conveyed in the piece.

Love is good, any kind of love. You have certainly expressed your sentiments well in these lines - easy to read and understsand how you feel in this poem.
