Run the flag
For all to see
The jolly Jake
The roger be
We fear no man
No mortal soul
We’re pirates’ lad
Tis all we know
This rum I sip
This rum I pass
This rum I lift
To every lass
Our bodies claimed
Our souls left free
We’re pirates’ lads
That’s what we be
No shame in this
No worry’s now
We’ve gold and drink
And waves abound
Set sail at once
And let her run
We’re pirates’ lad
Until we’re done
Author notes
This is about pirates in general...and what a great idea for a contest, I love the Pirates of the Carribean movies, both of them.

I love this pirate poem! The rhyme and flow were great. Thanks for entering the contest.

Oh, delightful!!
How jaunty indeed! One can just imagin the entire crew merrily (and by merrily I do mean pissed-drunkedly) swaggering (and by swaggering I do mean staggering) about the poopdeck (and by poopdeck I mean ... well, that one IS poopdeck) bellowing this at the top of their salty lungs! Surely, you must start a contest who can write the best Pirate Anthem! You would get a TONNE of intrest!
Great write! Not a single ounce of critism!

lol, this is awesome. I have to say, fantastic write. I definitely was killing myself the whole way through. Plus, I can totally envision the crew of the erstwhile "Pearl" actually singing this.
Great job!
