I stop and watch the people walk.
And as I watch their immortal stalk,
I realize what they're searching for
They're trying to open that one door.
The door holds the answers to all questions asked
What secrets does that one door mask?
I've seen the earth through eyes not man,
yet I still don't understand.
Why are we here? Where are we going?
Why must we all be so unknowing?
So many questions left unknown.
And the answers lie through that door alone.
Did he who make the lamb make thee?
And did he who made the earth make me?
What's our purpose on this land?
Why can we not understand?
I ask you again why am I here?
I scream again yet no one hears.
Our purpose, our meaning, our reason for living,
And why must man be so unforgiving?
I want to know it. It drives me mad.
Why must we feel joy or be sad?
Each night alone I lie awake.
Sense of this puzzle I try to make.
I have one answer my friend it's true.
And I assure you that it's nothing new.
It's very simple, the answer at last.
What secret does that one door mask?
The answer I'm sure you can foresee,
We're here because we're meant to be.

funny, the answers we seek only bring more questions, yet these questions are undoubtedly the most asked and puzzling, perhaps it is because every person has been encoded in our DNA the yearning for answers to our very being, maybe there is a God, who else could cause an entire race to ask the same questions. nice ending and great use of vocabulary and rhymes. interesting read, nice use of emotions as well, thanks for entering and making it a curious read. great job. - Jacen an IndividualEleven. *1up*

I liked this poem. I think you put a lot of effort and thought into this piece. I like the search for purpose in this poem, and how at the end you display the answer so simply "We're here because we're meant to be". Great Job!!
