No title is worthy, and no name covers it all.
This over here and that over there, he'd done it all.
A veteran, a Christian, a hard working man.
I can tell you all these things, but you still won't understand.
When the sun rose so did he, he was out in his garden again.
Even at eighty-three, he was a better worker than most men.
He did everything himself he always had.
He was always smiling. I never saw him mad.
Three generations after him ,and all saw him the same.
Loving and caring and always playing games.
A grandfather, a husband, and sports fan too.
He'd even watch the news that would soon ensue.
Confident, caring and set in his ways.
That's the way it stayed till the end of his days.
A father, a friend and a great man he was.
We never saw it coming but the end always does.
The first time was a miracle gone without a trace.
And we were all unaware of the obstacle we would face.
Pains and aches, that's all it was thought to be.
But the doctors saw something we couldn't see.
We kept all our phones close and near,
Afraid of the news we might soon hear.
Then it came, the worst we had feared.
He knew he might not make it, but still he persevered.
Days turned to weeks as his strength faded by.
Desperate to hold on, the truth we would deny.
We knew it wouldn't be long. The end was near.
Till that phone call came, and we heard loud and clear.
The tears, the pain that came at long last,
That came from the news that the angel had passed.
My grandmother told us the story of that day.
What all had happened before the angel flew away.
His breathing was labored, and my grandmother came to his room.
She told him she would be fine and that he could go very soon.
A few days later, we were all gathered near
To mourn the passing of one so dear.
Our hearts filled with joy and sorrow, we wished that he could stay.
But we all knew that it was time for the angel to fly away.
this is a story i worked very hard on it means a lot 2 me

I do like the concept of this poem, but feel it needs some serious refining, the flow is rough and the tempo very unevem HOWEVER, if you like it this way, thats all that matters, i m simply sharing an opinion, and you know what they say about THOSE !! LOL -
Damnit Leelee. This made me a little teary. I'm glad your not as upset as you were before about this even though I know it won't ever be alright. But anyway....it's really good! I hope this makes you start writing again because you're so good!
I think you might have already read this but whatever. This is the poem I wrote about your Granddad.
