The Question of Eternity

The search of eternity
Is one that will linger with us always
To suck the passion out of our miserable lives
To blow life into our soulless hearts
The search is what keeps us going
It is what pulls us back into the abyss
to keep going is tourcher
But to stop is impossible
To give in is what keeps us upright
The longing to give up pulls us down
There is no happy medium
No in-between
There will never be a true answer
Just those that circle around in our heads
And in our hearts
That tears out little pieces of us
And keeps them
Thoughts circle like vultures in the sun
Wandering in search of a place to land
But just keeping us awake in the sweltering heat
The oppressiveness of eternity
