Verba Obsoleta

Inspiration beckons me to slip
the slick seed of thought into my mouth

Seemingly entwined within the words of the Ancients
always one stroke away from gratification

A throbbing need for profundity
Yet all I am faced with is flaccid words
seeping into an insatiable page

Author notes

I have had solid writer's block for a good few years now. Go easy on me!

Any constructive criticism will be welcomed

Hey sis, you're doing much better than me at cracking the writer's block with this! I just love the phrase "slip the slick seed", it feels so rich as it rolls off the tongue.

This is very deep. I know what you're talking about, I ALWAYS have that same problem! Finding the right words at the right time is harder then most people would like to think.

Welcome back to the world of poetry. I am sorry to be the first person to click onto this piece of work because free verse is not one of my specialities, in fact I have only just started experimenting myself, so I don't feel able to give any constructive criticism. I am going to applause in part payment for the points that I have wasted. Val

I like it. It's really good. For someone who's had writer's block for a few years that's really good!
