On a brand new day
a glowing, gold sun rises
to birdsong chorus,
the smell of fresh-brewed coffee,
toasting bread and sizzling ham.
Any one of these
can move the poet to reach
for pen and paper,
put aside hunger for food,
and create a word picture.
First five syllables,
then add another seven
plus a further five,
and an envoi of fourteen
to finally end it off.

I like this. It shows, to me, how the smallest things can be the greatest inspiration. Nice grammar and spelling, so you get an overall good score. Good luck!
