Elementary, Dear Valentine

Boxes of sweet sentiments
pinched between anxious fingers.
Anticipation
thicker than caramel.

Chocolate kisses,
cinnamon hearts,
a special card
for that special someone.

Tired Cupids,
pink and white,
passed out
on red napkins

next to plastic cups;
fruit punch,
to wash down the sugar rush.

A rose for the teacher,
a shy glance,
whispers and giggles,
cheeks turn hot pink.

I’m Yours
Be Mine

Smiles lined with icing,
tongues lick sticky fingers clean.

Walking home with
a bag full of Valentines.

Such a sweet presentation on this page - valentines galore. Congratulations for taking silver in this contest. Liked the brevity of the lines, the flow and the sentiments expressed in the verses.

    This is cute ...

but it's not cute enough to win this contest. However, it is a good poem in its own way. This is more a walk down memory lane than a funny Valentine's poem.

This paints a very sweet picture. It brought to mind those valentines parties at school which were everyones favorite, even those mean little boys that used to pull my hair
