Less About a Rock; More About Rot
Under rock: a village of the dead
and almost dead, pungent green
rot gnaws at poisoned sod
moving rocks to merely
give new fodder to mold
a sick union; doubling, tripling
out of control in abhorrent tangle
of love misconstrued
jealousy breaks open strata
as it crawls, clasped claws,
in an upside down warped
way of showing how hurt we are;
gravel and grit bits slide
toward any solid form
and all it touches is tortured
until anything that could take hold,
anything that could take root,
is chewed like a foreign appendage
caught in metal grip. Broken
and festering, it affects and infects
seasons. Even in winter drama
it moves snow and hardens water
that splits rock hard places
a foundation, bricked tight
is crumble-down doubtful
to hold against such yeasty growth
like that of a turned head to approaching kiss;
mouth to unwilling slate,
casual brush on a sharp shoulder,
a nice “No,” and it moves mountains
to hide that refusal to conform
to decrepit habits of hate’s harrowing
Boulder is left broken beyond belief

Wow that is so very deep you ahve captured what jealousy can really do to a person if they let it control them. It leaves you wanting more and it also makes you think. Great work.

Wow. That is deep. I could almost see jealousy tainting and destroying a person who lets it take control. I'm going to have to read this a few more times. I don't think I'm getting all of. Great write.

ah jealousy, as with any emotion, if it is allowed to run without control it will go wild and become destructive. a good piece. spill ink and twist me into the crazy shape of love...

Oh, yes....it eats at you...it is simply easier to let it go. I realized, back when I was cutting some bad ends loose, that to be jealous or angry simply kept me connected..not them or him, but simply me.
I appreciate your comments and thank you again. -
thank you origami shapes. Jealousy is love gone mad for sure.

My take on this write was one of where you can grab hold of the mind's state when confronted to such difficulites and yet the pen spoke greatly just so the reader can grasp the images. Keep penning

Yes, to pen of jealousy is to write about how it ruins so many things. Thank you for you comment B.

"jealousy breaks open strata

Sighhh...Magnificent portrayal of such an insidious, demonic growth...Incredible penning, my Friend...Good luck in the contest, Sweetie...
