For Maatkara - My Goddess

Feeling alone, left, and rejected
Struggling for air, needing hope
Almost close to giving up in my life
Not understanding a lot of things
A big hole in my heart, so confused
Everything changed when Gennelle came
Gifts increasing, growing stronger
Each day there is a reason to arise
Even if I wake up each day for Gennelle
Then I would say that day is important
She is my everything to her I owe my life
Bowing down -
Knowing everything she says is right
Never turning wisdom away from her
Sometimes puzzled and confused
Yet she is patient, then teaches
My Goddess, the shinning light in my life
Without her I would be nothing
I can only hope that words I say -
Things that I do
Everything is a testimony of her in me
May my life be a light that honors her

Author notes

    Thoughtful...

I like this piece. You know, I thought about reading your poems before and I swear I had o.O I don't know anymore though. This is nicely written, though. I like the flow of it and the meaning behind it. It's a grand write, Kari, for a dear friend. Beautiful and touching.

    Love always,
    Kristen

This is a great poem Kari, as an outsider who knows nothing of your friendship you really illustrate a strong bond. I really like the line, "Everything is a testimony of her in me."

Nice! It's really important to let friends know how important they are in your life. There needs to be more good in this world, so appreciation is really necessary.

I'm glad that you found some strength through Maatkara. I saw that something was bothering you recently, yet I didn't know what, or if I could do anything to help you. I hope you know that people here really do care about you, and are more than willing to extend a hand to help you through your hard times.

I hope you continue to drive forward Kari...and that you'll come to understand how others really see you...as a shining ray of goodness
