I am a King

For i am the king when i am
in the jungle,  not locked behind
humans cages,  for there personal
amusement

I roam free and walk so proud as
as i make a roar so very loud

I am a symbol of a king, the lioness
sits by me as my queen

In wilderness i feel so free, not being watched
by humans as i hope you see

My picture was taken without my permission
in captive cages my soul slips away as my
spiritual being slowly decays

I want to be free as free as i can be,  if
you was me,  than you could see

I pant, with my open mouth,  humans say Oh! how
so very cute,  he is smiling i think i can see
if you was me,  would you be

Just like the Indians that use to roam free,  their
spiritual home slowly taken away as there personal soul
sadly decays

I am a lion and i will roar,  til my last breath as i have
done many generation long and way before

    I like poems like this...

    where you take on an animal's persona. I like cat poems very much and a lion is the BEST! *happy

    This was a great write........however, it was a bit too depressing and it brought me down to read it ~

    But....it's a great story ~
