I've been doing alright,
all this time on my own,
all my life,
orphaned and alone.
And then she came,
out of the blue,
had her eyes on me,
I never knew.
Her flowing hair,
her gentle smile,
her stubborn persistence,
driving me wild.
But she had her eyes on me,
right from the start.
She saw past this cold exterior,
understood this aching scar.
She brought new meanings to life,
like I'm born again.
But this time with feelings,
from her loving and care.
How does she do it?
I'll never know.
That goodness in her heart,
purity I never thought existed.
But now that I understand,
I too see through her exterior.
Her strong and brave facade,
within that lies her fears.
So I swear now,
I'll protect her.
Her guardian angel,
my life dispensable.
My Gunblade ready,
do not tempt me.
If you do,
beg not for mercy.
For she never gave up on me,
taught me to let go of my grieves.
I'm eternally grateful, Rinoa,
the day you had your eyes on me.

Aww, so pretty! Congratulations on the gold trophy. My entry was on Final Fantasy VIII too.
I'm playing it at the moment, on disc 2.

FFXIII was definitely my favorite game of all time. Loved the read.

Wow, this is powerful. I have played Final Fantasy VIII, so I know exactly what you're saying here. I think the first lines are actually from the song that Rinoa's mom sings, right? Anyway, I'll commment more on this after the contest. Good luck in the contest!
