Are You Ready?

Today is the tomorrow that we were worried about yesterday.
Live each day like it’s your last and you want to be remembered  how?
Who knows what could happen in the eye of tomorrow?
Your parents could die, you could lose a child, or
You could get a hug from someone special, or
You could get that promotion at work, or
You could win the lottery, or
There could be cataclysmic catastrophe
World wide all at once
Treat each moment as if it might be your last.
Pass on a smile (you’ll get one back, I promise!)
Lend a helping hand to someone in need
Send a thank you card to someone just for being a friend
Remark to a passing stranger how nice they look.
It doesn’t take much effort to brighten someone’s day
A smile, a handshake, a how-do-you-do?
Live each day as if tomorrow
You will be face to face with God
When that Book of Life is opened
Will your name be written inside?
Who knows what could happen in the eye of tomorrow

    Most excellent!
A wonderful write to make one stop and think about what's truly important in life; how instantly it can be gone and what would you have to show for it?
    I loved this
Thank you for sharing and for being a part of the contest

A catchy first line. Wonderful job and very inspirational. Makes me wanna go dance in the rain because I have never done it and always wanted to. Not that it matters. Keep writing from within.

See you around the deep end

    Uplifting!

What a wonderful uplifting write! This was wonderful, I of course live most of my days in this light. I know quite well, that those we cherish could perish and I try desperately not to leave someone on a bad note...ever. Rarely leave anything unsettled and often share a kind word with many, is there any other way to live? ~Tia

    Good message

I love this poem, so bright with hope and promises. Now if only everyone would live like this the world would be sooooooo much more pleasant. Glad you invited me to read this and it is such an honor to be on your favorites...I look forward to enjoying many more of your muses' writes as I hope you do mine. My word is very diversified and I am trying different things, so bare with me while I travel my journey into the unknown waters here at AP...wonderful words here.

    Good.

There is a poster in the room I stand that says this: "Today is the tomorrow that we were worried about yesterday" Nice work I like the flow and the truth to it. Keep writing.

Terrific poem! You have put alot of work into this..and I don't know of any life issue you didn't leave out..Live today like it were your last and put all you have into it...because we can't do anything about yesterday, but say we are sorry for actions done or not done..But live today at your best, for the Best One You know..A smile, a word of encouragement,a prayer..You have covered it all! Ecvellent!

    Wonderful

What wonderful lessons you have provided here. And a lot of thought provoking ones too. And of course the very most important question:
Will your name be written inside?
