The hint of romance
filling the air,
bringing new life
to my lonely heart.
Surprisingly sudden,
joyfully accepted.
Soft candlelight glowing,
classical strings playing,
adagio tempo revealing
intensity of emotions.
Like the warmth
of his gentle touch,
the music soothed.
I hungered for his touch,
the well being he instilled.
As he walked toward me,
candlelight dancing in his eyes
eagerly anticipating the union
of body, mind, and soul,
my heartbeat seemed deafening.
He sat close beside me
inviting me with his lips,
kisses enkindling the passion
unperceived for years.
In a list
Please tell me what you think

It's wonderful to see that people are not frightened of clichés...hungering for those touches, dancing candelight, kisses kindling passion. Wonderful stuff and very cool.

Thank you for reading and commenting on this poem. I guess there are some cliches in the poem. I really didn't realize I had used them.
I am glad you enjoyed it anyway.

The passion and intensity behind this poem is amazing, but it's expressed in such a gentle, emotional way: Beautiful in the way you were able to pull that off! I struggle with that still, so it's great to see somebody who's so good at it. This is such a romantic write, and the scene you brought forth is a powerful one in all senses.
"As he walked toward me,
candlelight dancing in his eyes"
That line really caught me as I love the way a flame dances so gracefully as it burns...then to be captured in the eyes of lover? Amazing scene and thought there. I love this write...one of my favorites of your love poems.

I can hear the ethereal quality of a harp playing gently through these words and the dance or courtship of love that takes place. Music truly inspires love and emotions, so to your words. Just lovely.

Thank you
How did you know that I just love the harp? lol Thanks so much for reading this poem, and I appreciate your remarks. Music is truly an inspiration to us all.
