The USA!

There's nothing greater that I can do except
Honor the Glorious Land of my birth
Ever-burning torch of freedom and righteousness!

United under God and under Old Glory
Strong in our Faith and our Patriotism
And never to be defeated by our enemies!

I really respect this poem because patriotrism has never been a big thing for me - I come from England where patriotism is dying, probably with our culture, and the 250,000 ex-patriots who leave the country ever year! - (and I'll probably be one of them after uni!)

I think the pride and honour of your patriotrism really shine through in this poem though which makes it a powerful and effective read.

I wonder how your feeling of patriotism relate and influence your views on over-sea conflicts?

Nice Acrostic poem! Great form to explore! Now this I definitely can relate to and agree with. As a member of the American society, I dedicate my physical life to. The freedoms that we have make me feel like life is worth living, even though there are the negative points to it. Your write was full of pride, which is a great feeling to have. Very well written and good luck in the contest.

Yes, even when the USA is in the wrong I always support it. I love Scotland; I have seen "Brigadoon" and I like to get drunk on whiskey.

great acrostic - hard form to really pull off and good tie of the letter in later parts of each line. great sentiment as well.

    i liked:
"United under God and under Old Glory
Strong in our Faith and our Patriotism"

Very strong words and stirring as well. Thank you for sharing this with us and keep up the great writing.
