When they first meet he fell in love
He just knew that it was right
Under neath the willow tree
Was their very first time
In the mist they made love
It was the first time the Cowboy criiiiiiiiied
It was the first time the Cowboy cried
On a sunday morning his heart sank
She was going off to college
He was afraid he had lost her
You could hear his heart break
Cause his love for her would last forever
It was the second time the Cowboy criiiiiiiiied
It was the second time the Cowboy cried
Yes they cry, For love and sorrow
Yss they hurt, Just like others
Cowboys never cry, But good men do
Yes Cowboys never cry, but good men do
She came home, Soon they were married
Children followed, There was happiness and bliss
They faced pain, They got through it together
The cowboy and the cowboys lady
Two hearts had become one, Underneath the willow tree
And so many times the cowboy criiiiiiiiiiiied
And so many times the cowboy criiiiiiiiiiiied
There were first days of school, and Graduation
Skinned knees and broken arms
A few weddings, a few deaths
A few more grandchildren born
But through it all he stayed strong
And so many times the cowboy criiiiiiiiiiiied
And so many times the cowboy criiiiiiiiiiiied
Yes they cry, For love and sorrow
Yss they hurt, Just like others
Cowboys never cry, But good men do
Yes Cowboys never cry, but good men do

Good write!
This is an excellent poem! I grew up in wyoming and spent most of my life there. I often worked on the ranches of friends of ours and rode in a few high school rodeos before I joined the Navy. I can really relate to this poem. It is truly a work of art! Bravo to you!

A beautiful poem that is sensitive and effectively written. I love the repetition that you used in this poem. My favorite line is Cowboys never cry, but good men do. Quite a clever poem my friend. I love it!

of course cowboys/good men cry and should. There are so many reasons in life , sad and even happy that they do spill over into tears.pssst...third stanza, second line...a typo (should be YES I think)Keep writing your feelings , your thoughts etc for us...most of all stay safe and maybe let the troops know that we do care. Oh my...if I am correct, I believe it will be four years in March that this war started
