The sun shines brightly on those
who are touched by your soft words
or comforted by your bright eyes
as you offer them everything you have
You ask for nothing in return
and consider yourself blessed to
be of service to anyone in need
a servant of great proportions
Yet, the motivation is not pure
and the rewards not satisfying
as the true battle remains hidden
behind a mask of selflessness
For you cannot find it in your heart
to forgive yourself for your anger
even though your anger is justified
and your thoughts are reasonable
The forgiveness is for your benefit
and will change the darkness within
so that you may also enjoy yourself
the sunshine you spread to others
we are parts of a larger design
we cannot understand or control
let the blessing of forgiveness
make you renewed in life and love
