Have you ever felt like banging
Your head against the keyboard?
While reading the words on the screen
And thinking "why me, Lord?"
Of all the people in the room
Why did they pick you to talk?
Waiting for them to get to the point,
While staring at the monitor clock.
The story they are weaving,
Is too impossible to be true.
The facts they keep changing,
And their words are annoying you.
They told the same story last night,
And then again the night before,
It's been like this for the past six months,
And you doubt you can take much more.
The keyboard idea is tempting,
As you slowly lower your head.
A few tiny taps in annoyance,
Then "screw this, I'm off to bed!"

For all the chatters who think making up stories will get you friends.....I pity you ...and, we KNOW they are not true. I know some people are lonely and just looking for attention, but...damn!!

Very good story. As a chat vertrain of about 30 years back when I helped make the internet with Bob Dole (who I know on a first name basis), I have seen my share of stories and exaderations, but I myself have never submitted to them.

LMAO!!! I can so relate, tho I don't use chat rooms anymore. It seemed all the people with hard luck stories, and those who were going to do themselves in THAT night gravitated towards me, and I was sucker enough to try and help.. needless to say, I learned my lesson LMAO And it's not always easy to tell them to bug off, if you're not like that in 'everyday' life (tho, might not be a bad idea knowing what we all know about chat rooms now LOL). There's a lesson to be learned here and you conveyed that very well...GREAT write!!! Enjoyed this one especially LOL

sometimes i just sit there, watching in fascination as the stories unfold, wondering how they come up with some of the things they say...then i slowly shake my head in disgust and disappointment at the human race, hoping that i don't get sucked into their little world...fortunately i think i'm a little smarter than that
very well-written, funny piece that i can totally relate to!!! sometimes just shutting down the computer, hugging your significant other/child/guinea pig/whatever and going to bed is the best remedy... -
