She stands,
silhouetted against the shimmer
of the rippling wavelets,
hair free,
carefree;
arms extended
towards the setting sun,
in a prayer, an exaltation
for a night not yet begun.
She lies,
glistening body outlined in moonlight,
hair wet,
eyes bright;
legs outstretched
towards the rising tide,
the still-warm sand,
pepper-like,
running through her hand.
She rises,
as a cool breeze blows,
dresses in her scattered clothes
and wanders off along the beach...
beyond my reach.

Wow.
You set the scene so well here with your vivid, rich imagery. Simply beautiful.. so romantic, with a twist for the ending.
A delight to read.
Thanks for entering my contest, and best of luck. -
