The Hydra Slayer Elf

One day a hydra was loosed

and elves had been seduced

The hydra, a terrible serpent

his demeanor ever so ferment

Heads six had he

and terrified me

seven inch fangs

and spittle that hangs

Truly a darkened day

when elves could not go play

The dark elves had trained them to kill

they laughed for it gave them a thrill

So I took up my sword and ran for the cave

trying to be, an elf that was brave

I swung my blade and off with a head

then I kept swinging until he was dead

So home I returned to my peers

basking in elfin cheers

That is really good, and you came along and saved the day I love it! You put a lot of thought into it. It was a pleasure to read.

I can see this tale being told to a group of children in the moors somewhere. You give it a lighter side with the rhyme and the playing denied. And you also put bravery in, so it is very appealing. In this line
"The dark elves had trained them to kill"...
did you mean him instead of them as relating to the elves taught the hydra to kill? Wonderful little tale. Blue

Cutesy. Not sure "ferment" works for me though or why the elves would be seduced that he was loosed. Still cute story once I got past that.

      I was wondering if it would bother someone. The term isn't just used in chemistry it also means: "social unrest" a state of agitation or turbulent change or development; "the political ferment produced a new leadership";

Great visions of the beast played in my mind and the thought of elves giving it a fearful beating, just delightful simplicity in your words which works well.
