A mother's worst fear come to life

Missing image

Her joy was

eclipsed by the pain

The little girl she

had always

dreamed of

was fighting for her life

Not even a day old

and her tiny little

body could not

keep anything down

A doudinal Web is

what the doctors said

how can this be

what does it mean

She has to have

surgery if she

has any hope to survive

lying there with those

IV's sticking out

of every where

piericing her delicate

skin and causing her

to bleed

Mommy is here

but no touch can

she give

unable to even hold

her all she

can do is collapse

to the floor

Tears fill her eyes

and stream down her

cheeks as she

sees her baby

hooked up to machines

Will she ever get

to hold her, take her

home and watch her grow

Author notes

That little baby, my baby did grow up and I have her with me today. She is ten years old and she is a fighter and survivor. She lived through three major operations by the time she was two. She is my precious gift from God and I will treasure her all the days of her life. She also has a poetry page on here so drop by and read some of her stuff.

oh this was such a sad piece to read, reminding me of my own struggles with such issues. but the fact that she is a survivor, a fighter reminds me of so many positive things. this was indeed very emotional to read!

This is a touching poem dedicated to your strong little one. Sometimes God sends angels into our lives to allow us to witness His miracles. She is surely one of them. God bless you and your daughter. She is beautiful just like her mommy.

    Much Love ♥

What a beautiful treasure she is!!! Oh Tammy, nothing is more painful than a mother watching her child suffer. My little son had asthma so badly, and I almost lost him a time or two. So I can understand the fear and sadness that gripped your heart. Your faith was strong and brought the both of you through. My son is now 27 years old, and even yet he is mama's baby boy! Another wonderful poem you have written here. Bless you and yours!!!

she is gorgeous! you poem depicts a picture so many parents face, it is never an easy task to watch a child suffer for any reason. Praise God that He allowed this child to survive, may He keep her safe as she grows into adulthood and has children of her own. You are blessed both with this child and with the talent to write. Very nice job!

    Good you have each other!

Your little girl is beautiful, her eyes so full of life and fun. She fought to be here and you fought for your little girl with energy, prayer and love. It is very good that you have each other. Your story of her/your struggle is inspirational. Jadon
