There was a time
When I thought the sun
Would never shine again
Then a breath of life
Reached through the shadows
And helped me to begin

I held all the darkened stars
Within my fragile soul
My heart whispered of a dream
That continues to unfold

The sparkles of the darkness
Faded beneath the light
And after that brief moment
Our fire began to burn bright

I was a knight of darkened destiny
And then you came along
I'd been blinded by the unknown
But then you sang me your song

It had grounded and enlightened me
With a brilliance that filled the deep
My fears of loss were somehow altered
When it became you I wished to keep

The doubts had been diminished
And the unseen was clearly lit
I knew my life would be unsettled
Without you illuminating it

Now is the time
When I know the sun

Pulls through the shadows
Forcing me to recall

My lullaby of broken dreams
Ceased as the sun began to rise
The pain that forever consumed me
Ended when you arrived

Heaven itself seemed to fall
And the world stopped to stare
It was you who saved me from myself
Brought me out of my despair

Your bright eyes seemed to encase me
As our souls intertwined
It was right then and there

We approach the time
