It Is the Christmas Season- Piano and Synth

Yes, the season is history, but this seasonal song I am still working on until I get rid of the "cack-iness!" (see comment below!)... the lyrics are lightweight, and a confusing mix of secular and religious. (and I'd fix that if it didn't reflect the confusing state of the world we live in today!)

So here is the very first score of anything posted on AP, I believe... and something out of the ordinary from me, as usual...

hear it in progress  (synthesizer version) (played by me) (or hear the piano score below) (played by my talented computer)

Author notes

the recording is a few versions beyond this score- structure same, just filled out in a few places, especially the bassline...

Hi wish I had a piano handy to play this, seems very familiar but although I read music, well as a novice I could not place it, nice idea, when I write music out it looks like a spider got into the ink, I see this is a computer copy, lovely idea, all the best, sorry am out of applauses,Di

You know you had me from the first bar so...

    Darling

    I wish my voice
    could complement your song
    thats not my choice
    but I'll sing along.

    I find charity attractive
    since its so pure
    should be more interactive
    using your song's allure.

Richly comprising the spirit of the season. I'm afraid I don't read music, but kinda put it's beat to a rhythm in my mind and it's great. An upbeat winner in my estimation.~~Suseann

Congrats on the score and the combination of flavors depicts Christmas for me quite well, God/Christ is in everything,s so we can indeed enjoy a celebration on earthly terms as well.

sound very nice. aren't you multitalented... lol
i would make a smart comment about how the notes here....are.... something, but that would only help prove my ignorance in this topic.

    Best wishes,

I like the way this song keeps driving along and changes rather freely into almost a march. I picture this sung by a choir - more than just a carol. Is this written on Finale? They have the website where you can post Finale stuff. I listened to it - noce happy feel, with some interesting nuances in the harmony.

      Good guess!

Not Finale proper, but the freeware "Finale/Allegro Notepad"... and since I can't do counterpoint with it and it has other quirky issues, maybe I'll break down and buy one of the full versions if my writing goes in that direction... thanks for the tip, I'll have to check out the website, then others can hear the computerized framed-out piano-only version with all it's digitized fractalism!
